Action Aviation’s Chairman Hamish Harding was part of the crew to fly the Sino Swearingen SJ30 straight from San Antonio, Texas to Dubai – a journey of 7810 nautical miles (14,500 kms), taking a record 16 hours, 24 minutes flying time and an average speed of 476 kts (20 hours overall with fuel stops). The flight marked a record distance for any aircraft under 20,000 lbs weight in a 24 hour period.

The SJ30, which is making its Middle East debut at the Dubai Air Show, is the fastest and longest range light jet in the world. “The aircraft handled beautifully throughout the long flights. It was a joy to fly, and the fact that the SJ30 has a sea level cabin all the way up to 41,000 ft meant that I and the other pilot, Paul Arrambide, were not as tired from the effects of jet lag as we would have been in any other business jet. Also, with a maximum ceiling of 49,000 ft, the SJ30 can get above most enroute weather or headwinds” Harding commented.

Action Aviation is displaying its latest SJ30 production aircraft, fresh off the San Antonio, US production line, at the Dubai Show. “The Middle East is a strong territory for the SJ30. The aircraft represents great value for money for a 2500 nautical mile (with NBAA reserves) and 486 knot aircraft.

There is really nothing else out there in the marketplace today that offers this capability in a light jet. Routes like Dubai to Moscow, Dubai to the Seychelles and Dubai to anywhere in India are all possible with the SJ30. Single pilot certificated, it boasts a comfortable cabin with seats that recline to form a fully flat double bed” said Harding.
